Umbrex

Summary

Umbrex (formerly Library Analyzer) does not collect any personal data. The developer runs no servers for the app, and the app contains no analytics, advertising, crash-reporting, or tracking code.

Your Music

Key and tempo analysis runs entirely on your device. Music you import from the Files app stays on your device, and your library, analysis results, and settings are stored locally.

Plex

Plex is optional. If you link a Plex account, the app talks directly to plex.tv to sign you in and find your servers, and directly to your Plex Media Server to browse, stream, and load artwork and lyrics. If you leave play history enabled, the app also reports play counts and ratings back to your own server.

Your Plex sign-in token is stored in the device keychain. None of these requests go to the developer. Plex's own privacy policy covers plex.tv.

Permissions

Every permission is optional, and nothing it gathers is sent to the developer.

• Microphone and Speech Recognition: voice search of your library. Apple transcribes your speech, on your device where supported.
• Motion and Location: Drive Mode, which reacts to how the car moves. Location is never stored or shared.
• Local Network: connecting to a Plex Media Server on your network.

Apple TV

On Apple TV, Umbrex plays music from your own Plex Media Server. You sign in by approving a code at plex.tv on another device, and the Plex section above applies. Key and tempo analysis runs on the Apple TV, and your library and settings are stored on it. The only permission the Apple TV app asks for is Local Network, to reach your Plex Media Server.

Links

Searching for lyrics on Genius opens Safari with the track's artist and title. Genius's own privacy policy applies there.

Children

The app is not directed at children and collects no data from anyone.
