Project
Umbrex
Know the key and BPM of every track you own
What it is
Umbrex finds the key and BPM of every track in your library, on device, then lets you browse, sort, and mix by them. Bring music in from the Files app or your Plex Media Server and keep each source in its own library. Analysis runs entirely on your device — your music is never uploaded, and there is no sign-up, ads, or tracking.
Who it’s for
DJs, producers, and music collectors who want to sort and mix their own library by key and tempo, from the Files app or a Plex Media Server.
Features
On-device key & BPM
Analyze the musical key and tempo of every local and Plex track without sending your music anywhere.
Camelot mixing
Browse and sort by Camelot-wheel keys, then build Up Next queues that mix in key.
29 reactive visualizers
Fullscreen or inside the album art, the visualizers move with the music as it plays.
Slowed + reverb & nightcore remixes
Render slowed-and-reverbed or nightcore versions of your own tracks, with matching artwork treatment.
Plex streaming & CarPlay
Stream from your Plex Media Server with plex.tv sign-in, and drive the whole library from CarPlay.

Analysis on your device
Umbrex finds the key and BPM of every track in your library and runs entirely on device. Your music is never uploaded, and no account or sign-up is required.
Mix in key
Keys are shown on the Camelot wheel, so you can sort, filter, and queue tracks that mix harmonically. Browse by key or BPM, or build an Up Next queue that keeps the energy where you want it.
Bring your own library
Import from the Files app or stream from your own Plex Media Server, and keep each source in its own library. A fullscreen cassette player, a live waveform seek bar, a 10-band graphic EQ, and 29 reactive visualizers round it out.
Private by design
Analysis happens on your device, and there are no analytics, ads, or tracking. Plex is optional and talks directly to plex.tv and your own server.
