Covetrus
Covetrus is a global animal-health company dedicated to empowering veterinary practices. Until 2019, it was the animal health business of VetsFirstChoice, and Henry Schein, before being divested. In 2021, the company ranked 593 on the Fortune 1000 list of the largest United States corporations by total revenue

During my time at Covetrus I was on a high-performing team that was dedicated to building out microservices and building new greenfield UIs for a variety of services.
Some examples are the new Appointment Management SPA React app, a new Communications microservice, and a modern RX web integration from their legacy PIMS software.
Some specific accomplishments:
Java Spring Microservices
- Built a Java Spring “Communications Microservice” that sent emails and SMS messages through Twilio and SendGrid APIs.
- Built a Java Spring backend for the “PIMS-RX” app which communicated across different internal systems via Kafka topics
Modern Web Apps with React and TypeScript
- Worked on the “Appointment Management” React Redux app to enable users to schedule veterinary visits with email and SMS notifications
- Built a React TypeScript “PIMS-RX” front-end app with a Java Spring MongoDB backend service to enable users inside embedded “PIMS” desktop applications to use our Prescription Management platform

Additionally, I trained to become a Certified SAFe Scrum Master for my development team as our company transitioned to SAFe.
Overall, I greatly enjoyed my time at Covetrus and am still quite close with a number of folks over there. The talent there is notably strong.
